April Wedding Planning

My wife and I were lucky enough to spent our honeymoon on St Barths in 19993. Have been going back at least annually since then. One of my favorite places on earth. Several years ago we brought our children with us, now it is my daughters favorite spot too. So much so that she is getting married there mid April. We do have wedding planners who lived there for 6-7 years, so they have local knowledge. My question is how do I get help getting all the guests from SXM to SBH. I have already contacted SBC and Winair. Total attendees flying in will be +- 120. Contact VIP to see if the flight are something they can help with? Local car rental; Gumbs? TIA

This forum is always up for a challenge and this seems to be an interesting one! You didn’t mention lodging, but that could present a challenge in mid April. What do your planners have to say about the last leg travel? Considering that many may arrive on the same day before the big day, that’s a lot of hops. Chartering multiple hops might ease the worry of schedules in the traditional sense. Also can’t believe I’m suggesting this, but the ferry can handle many more at a time.

"I brought my kid to St. Barths and now I have to pay for a 120+/- person wedding there!"

Just kidding, sorta. Sounds amazing and you need Premimum IV.

I agree that with that many people on the island at the same time, having a concierge will be very useful...

The ferry would be a back-up. My daughter and future SIL missed the SBC connection and had to take it last month!
I believe almost all will be arriving in SXM. I have charter pricing from both SBC and Winair, The planners are reaching out to hotels for block pricing. I contacted WIMCO for villas. We will be on island in early Nov for tastings and other prep. I am just trying to get ahead so I can point everyone to use ____ for flights, ____ for car rental, ____ for villa rental. I will contact Vincent, used him years ago to secure a helicopter.

This would make a very funny tshirt and would definitely get more than a few giggles if everyone wore them around island at the same time. I hope the OP continues to update and takes us along for the ride. I’d love to hear how this all turns out.

I have always told my children that is against French law for children to be on the island. I now realize how brilliant that was.

Well played, George.

We told our son youngest son the same thing after we discovered St Martin. Fast forward. He later got to bring his very own then 8 year old son, Charlie, to St Barth. .Of course his family loved it!

Early Nov trip booked to meet with the wedding planner on the island, get measurements at the reception villa and do tastings. I will also meet with Vincent to see what services he can provide. Scheduled to meet with SBC rep who is doing my charters about adding additional planes. Will do the same with Winair. Suggestions on a rental car agency? Leaning towards Gumbs since they are local. Will most likely need 40+ vehicles.

Glad to hear it is all working out well and we wish you the best outcome.
I will continue to warn my children about the horrors of the Bastille and the dangers of Inspector Javert for children being on a French island.
It is unclear to me how long I can use this ruse as they are all in their 40's.

you aren.t kidding, George...brought my kids there for 20 years every March...on the last trip they were making the restaurant schedule...and now, my oldest, has to fly the girlfriend there in December...

Update: Flying in next Sunday for a week of pre event prep. 120 guests is the cap number, we are at 115 as of today. We have told everyone to book flights to SXM and SBH NOW. Villas and hotel rooms are booked through a point person that lived on the island with local knowledge.

? Any new restaurants that we should try? I have chef Frederic one night at our villa.
