It's quite dated but thanks anyway.Maybe not up to date, but there is an Anguilla forum on this site.
And a visit to the white powder sand beach, Shoal Bay. That beach with its clear water took my breath awayI’ve been going to Anguilla frequently since 1993. This year 2+ weeks in SBH then on to Anguilla. Wonderful people, spectacular beaches & great restaurants. Totally different vibe than SBH. More laid back and no late night party spots with dancing on the tables. Recommend staying in the west end. Rendezvous bay beach is probably the most beautiful Caribbean beach!
Because it's a different vibe from here that also has good food, beautiful beaches and welcoming people... and sometimes it's nice to explore new places? St Barths will always be my #1, but I have room in my heart for both. Why go to Anguilla when you have St Barth... No.

I was one of the original owners of Shoal Bay Scuba and Watersports back in the '90s. The secret to the incredibly white soft sand is how it was made over countless years. Parrot Fish eat coral for a living. There's not much nutrition in a mouthful of coral that they chew off the coral head so they are constantly chewing and excreting what's left. The sand is not rock at all but small particles of pure coral. That's why it's as soft as cotton and as white as snow. When it is next to and underneath a shallow stretch of water the sun is refracted back into an alphabet of blues. The first time you drive over the hill leading down to Shoal Bay Beach it takes your breath away. It was a great Office! The prettiest beach I ever saw was Shoal Bay East. Scilly Cay has many memories for me too.
Beachcomber, thank you for this ecological explanation. Indeed, that view took my breath away. Then Uncle Ernie's punch took me to la la land on a comfortable Pressure King rented lounge! Ahh, Anguilla. Good memories.I was one of the original owners of Shoal Bay Scuba and Watersports back in the '90s. Amazing memories. My best friend on Anguilla had his own plane and we darn near flew the wings off that little Cessna 182rg. If an Island had a runway, we landed there but the time on St Barts was always the most special. I remember when he got certified to land there how excited he was.Beachcomber, thank you for this ecological explanation. Indeed, that view took my breath away.
