Advice

I am also glad to know that Sibarth is back to work.Their office was badly hit by Irma.
Charming owners.

I assume Grand Fond was hit pretty hard and perhaps Le Toiny too. Does anyone have an idea of how the new Le Toiny beach area fared?

Grand Fond seemed to have relatively little damage compared to other areas. I believe from its East facing and protection in valley.
They did get a new sand beach from Irma.
Toiny was hit hard, especially two large villas top of hill just up road from Le Toiny facing Petit Cul-de-Sac.

Thanks, Phil and dadto6. Yes, most houses in Grand Fond are low to the ground and nestled into the hills. Glad the topography offered some protection there.

George, if you’re thinking about Christmas, take a look at the post-Irma 2BR version of La Baleine. I picked up Les Jardins d’Emmanuel after the Thanksgiving guests were unable to come, and I think that the Christmas guests at La Baleine may have cancelled http://www.wimco.com/villas/villa.aspx?pid=902623 There was some damage, but repairs are nearing completion, and the views out over the moored yachts at Christmas should be fantastic.
Denise and I would absolutely concur with Kevin about a possible stay at La Beleine during Christmas. As we believe we are her first guests to be able to stay there since her renovations we will be able to report first hand. We will be there from 11/19 till 12/11. Adding to this I might add that it's such a joy to be able to hear from ROSITA concerning the Villa in that she REFUSES(lol) to send us photos of the finished product, opting instead to playfully state "I want you both to be surprised". After all that she and her family have been through(as the entire Island has) it would seem she is feeling better about things in general. Personally, I'm sure Denise and I aren't the only ones who can't wait to give her a giant hug for ALL that she does for her guests AND friends.

Ill add that to the above 4 fans of Villa La Baleine, you will love it and even better yet you can’t beat the neighbors. We have stayed there for the last 10 years and returning always feels like coming home. I get update pictures from the Construction Superintendent ( Rosita) almost every day and the progress is amazing. while the 3rd Bedroom is not ready yet it’s comimg along and will be ready for,the 18-19 season. The new gazebo I swear is designed for 300mph winds. The pool is waiting. If it’s available take it.

Thank you all for your responses. THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SITE! If I have offended by the caps, I do not regret it as you know my thankful intentions. I face a difficult surgery decision and may want to go during the Christmas time and then due the surgery. I would rather play one more time before the surgery; I think.

Best of luck with the surgery whenever you choose to have it!

Happy Birthday to the young 'relic.' And reading all of the reports on the Forum, we have not hesitates to return to the island for our annual two sojourn! Everything will not be the same but there will be less traffic and always lots of sunshine, beautiful views, beaches, great food, rose wine, TPunches and great sunsets and sunrises!
