It has been 5 1/2 months since the original thread on the subject. According to the article you shared JEK, a lot of ‘hoops’ had to be gone thru to be able to forge ahead with the project.
Helene implies (‘despite judicial remedies’) that the construction may still not be approved. I remember all of the talk of a hotel on Saline which never happened. And the Le Toiny restaurant/Club on the beach which did happen.
My hunch is this project will proceed. St. Jean’s is prime for additional tourism and the investment in underground parking is quite an undertaking. Helene will lead a tough opposition but it may be too late. The development wheels have been quietly turning since at least last November or longer.
