Here we are. settled in at a poolside table, sharing our date night dinner at Hotel Le Toiny's Le Gaiac Restaurant. Toasting our great vacation with a nicely chilled Bellini and a refreshing gin and tonic.

My delicious Champagne and Peach Bellini rated a picture on its own.
The amusee consisted of a lollipop of foie gras wedge in crushed ginger crust and a puff pastry with haddock mousse topped with dill
Another amusee was these warm deep fried mahi mahi accras

And lastly, for our shared starters, drum roll please, Le Gaiac's signature dish of spaghetti Parmesan with cream, vodka, and black truffles!! It was as good to taste as always and we enjoyed each and every morsel. (Think dining joy as seen in When Harry Met Sally). YES!!!
We pray that it remains on the new menu being created for the new season!

We got to taste two main courses that are approved for the new menu.
I chose the melt in your mouth very tender lamb filet encrusted in herbs and tomato. It was served with a lamb ravioli, a slice of roasted lamb shoulder, and mashed eggplant caviar over a bar shaped rice paddy garnished with vegetables.

The beef filet Rossinis were filled with seared foie gras and served with potatoes risotto with black truffles in a beef juice and horseradish foam

Just left enough room for one egg size dollop of incredible house made strawberry sorbet

And the after dessert dessert-just when you are ready to burst
A sugar and ginger coated apricot jellie
A lighter than air vanilla marshmallow
And the mind blowing soft caramel centered fresh raspberry on a caramel cookie crust

A grand dining finale to a very wonderful summer vacation.

We had a chance to talk with Guy Lombard, Le Toiny GM, over drinks, and he let us know that Le Gaiac will have a new chef beginning this month. His new menu will be a little more traditional, as indicated by our main courses.

What a wonderful looking dinner . . . and in a setting I know to be beautiful. I'll be interested to try the new menu -- I hope to be there before end-of-the-month annual closing.

Many tables along the pool were filled as well as a nice 8 in the corner.

The waitress had her back to the pool for this shot of us.

Were there any additions to your Laurent Effel collection that you'd care to share with the ladies of the Forum?
