Eddy’s opening night with friends

A great evening in a full house of the usual crowd of loyalists, first-nighters, locals, & visitors making a discovery of Eddy’s cuisine & hospitality!

With Wendy & me, after visiting The Wall House Museum together for Closing Night reception of the “Artists Show“

. . . were one of Wendy’s brothers and a niece from Annapolis, MD, & close friends & Forum stalwarts, Ellen & Rosemond Greaux.

Eddy — getting ready to meet-up with Brigitte in Nice — was a consummate host . . . greeting long-time friends as “family” (I was around when a young Eddy persuaded his father to allow him to open a hamburger stand at Le Select, with the rest being history!)

BTW . . . a great wine offered by Mahé, Eddy’s son & manager of the Restaurant & Le Select, as well as proprietor of a great wine store (“Pitou Cellarsl) in Gustavia & distributor of fine wines.

Here's a bit of local trivia - Rosemond and Eddy have known each other about 58 years - they were both born in 1958 and went to middle school together in Gustavia starting at about 10 years old... !!

I remember it pretty much as it is today, without the hamburger stand. The ground in the garden was covered in shells that Marius used to bring over from Shell Beach, where he & his family lived.
