Suggestions dining and activities for children

Before Covid and when our children were still very young my Wife and I would visit St Barts two or three times a year for short trips of three or four days. Getting to St Barts from West Palm Beach very easy. We have only been back a couple times since 2022. This time we are coming for 9 days with our sons age 10 and 12. Have booked some wind surfing lessons, the villa rental agency we are using (trying something different than WIMCO or Sibarth) give us access to the non-moralized water sports and hotel Le Barthelemy Hotel’s facilities. But we aren’t letting them bring their IPads, and looking for other activities that they may enjoy. Also suggestions for family restaurants appreciated.

LTBC has a kids' menu and what a thrill for them to ride down in the Defender and have a toes-in-the-sand lunch under the palapa caressed by gentle breezes and enjoying sea views

I took my 8yo daughter a few years ago (2022). I am not sure what your children are like, but our daugther didn't really require much additional attention... and she's not overly a picky eater. She was able to find something to eat at everyplace we went to.... although one of us always ordered something we knew she would like just in case. I think at the time we hit up:

Eddys
Les Baniers
Black Ginger
Le Rivage
Zion
Sante Fe
L'Esprit

I don't recall having any lunches out..... We would either grab a sandwich from the bakery or make something quick back at the villa. My wife did bring some Kraft M&C and a few other snacks in her bag.

My daugther just loves being in the ocean and swimming in general. So entertaining her wasn't overly difficult. We would just go to a beach and she would spend all the time she could in the ocean. I think we hit up Colombier, Saline (too rough for her when we were there), St Jean, Shell and Lorient.

We brought a life vest for her so I could swim around with her and take her a way out away from the beach (not far, but it's just a little peace of mind). Recently we have been visiting St John.... and we still bring the lift vest even though she's now 12. When we go snorkeling and go somewhat far out from shore (taking her around the cay at Trunk and Cinnamon) it's good to know she won't have an issue.

Check out the St Barth Sailing School in Public for sailing and sailing classes; the tennis center in St Jean; Surfing, try the Reefer Surf Club in Lorient; take them to the new pedagogical farm in Lurin; and the St Barth Heritage Museum at Le Brigantin in Gustavia.. also nice hiking to the forts above Gustavia or out to the beach in Colombier...

Our grandkids came last summer, ages 7 and 9, and I was very worried that they would be bored. But, they had a wonderful time just going ot the beach! We also did a few activities like the yellow submarine, the defender ride down to Toiny and the farm wasn't open yet, but I have been there and it is a great spot for kids! We ate at places like Jojo Burger, Bananiers, Baz Bar (gone, sadly), Select, Oubli, Le Piment - - and their favorite by far was pizza by the meter at Isoletta. But, most of all, they just enjoyed the beach!

We have brought along our children and grandchildren at all ages from infant to adult. None have ever become bored. St. Barth is a great vacation destination.

We just returned home from our visit with our children (they are just shy of 10 and 15). The Christopher has a great daypass that my daughter loved. It included a little gift of a stuffed turtle and a coloring book with colored pencils. She loved our lunch and pool day there. Our son decided to obtain his PADI diving certification and did his referral dives over 3 days with Serial Divers and said that was his favorite activity.

Otherwise they both enjoyed the early seating at Nikki Beach on Sunday, Toiny Beach Club, visiting Chokola Vany every morning for breakfast and the hikes to Fort Carl and the natural pools in Grand Fond. We also had a chef come to the villa one evening which they loved.

It may seem obvious but take bathing suits to Le Toiny Beach Club - there is a pool and one can wade in the ocean, not a swimming beach - on a good day there are lots of surfers there as well if the waves are rolling in big time !

Our daughter is just a Shirley Temple girl but our son tried a mocktail everywhere we went! He was thrilled with all the options. His favorites were at the bar up at Le Toiny and Beefbar!

Both a blessing and a curse it seems! He definitely enjoyed the dining on island to include wagyu, caviar and truffle with his mocktails
