Haven’t been to Manapany but we loved Le Barthélemy! The lagoon is excellent and so is their beach and pool.

What time of year? Manapany can get pretty bad sargassum on the beach right in front of the hotel in sargassum season, which unfortunately is getting longer every year. It's too bad, it is a lovely place.

Pool Beach Food Atmosphere Thanks

Manapany is very nice . . . great ambiance, dining, and view. Beach = B-. Between the two, I'd recommend Le Barthelemy (more nearby variety and better beach offerings).

Both hotels are lovely, but (IMHO) Le Barthelemy is more chic and special. The architecture and Balinese-inspired design is unique to the island and the hotel itself feels like a destination. Neither hotel has an especially good beach - the beach at Manapany isn't swimmable and the beach at Le Barthelemy is a shallow lagoon feeding into the ocean. The restaurants, bar, pool and beach areas at Le Barthelemy are splendid and it always feels good to be there. The only downside is Le Barthelemy's GCDS location is further from Gustavia and both hotels are somewhat equidistant to St. Jean and the action there.

April these days is a gamble with sargassum - I saw it come around in March this year(!) but not nearly as bad as it can get later in the season. I agree with others, though Manapany is lovely, if I had to choose between them, I would choose Le Barthélemy.
