Maybe it was just that big planes unloaded at the same time but NO ONE was happy. Immigration said the the electronic entry form has nothing to do w them (I'd thought having it would speed things up; they said it's a tourism dept. requirement for entry). If I were still trying to make same day connections I'd be taking much earlier flights out of SBH.

I landed today on United from Washington Dulles at 12:40pm, we had to circle a couple times because no space was available to de-plane. However, it was the quickest ever through In-Transit that I can recall. We only have carry on and from the time we entered the airport terminal until we were at the Winair desk for check in was maximum 5-minutes.
Glad to be on the Island, it is very beautiful thus far. Enjoyed a late lunch at Le Barthelemy. Tonight is Les Bananiers. Luigi here we come!

Carry-on only for me also and I agree in Transit is fantastic. I fly SBC.

PIV has always been helpful on the return for us, all the way up through the passport gates. Has something changed?

I was under the impression that they couldn’t save you from the general immigration and security lines and waits on return flights ?
Plus, I assume they hold no sway over DL AA United etc ?
You are correct but they pick up your luggage at the hotel and get you checked in to Winair and get all your boarding passes, pay your overage baggage charges up front (you reimburse on an invoice when you get home), get your luggage for you when you get off the plane or helicopter if you take one, take it to DL and get you checked in to DL, put you in front of the DL Check In line, accompany you up the escalator and make sure you get through to the Departure hall, and then leave. If you are a carry on only person (DD would dream about a wife that would be..), I think you can handle it all yourself. But if there were a problem, they would take care of it. If you travel with most of Marché U in your 4th suitcase, you could really use some help

Last year we deplaned on the jetway and headed down the ramp to the SBC transit desk. Showed them our passports and pictures of our checked luggage then on the security. Probably 15 minutes to get to the gate, which was packed with the usual Winair chaos.

Have been told that WinAir has been canceling flights the past month - maybe related to Carnivale in St Maarten - but no reliable explanation.
Check in at Delta this morning was a breeze as was getting through security and passport control. Delta told me Saturdays are murder at Immigration - will plan accordingly.

Our previous trips have all involved flying on the weekend and been miserable! Our last trip was to Anguilla and we used Premium IV on the way home and it was of course fantastic. This year we are arriving on a Tuesday and leaving on a Thursday with SBC, hoping it will be better. We're also visiting in July so hoping the lower crowds then help as well. Thoughts on if we should be ok with this plan? Or should we still contact Vincent?

Following along for meal reviews.
I am not sure how much research you have done but personally we fly from PHL and AA First Class PHL-SJU along with Tradewind SJU-SBH is actually about the same price as a FC ticket to SXM plus SBH Commuter or Winair.Tradewinds is more than I ever wanna pay

Thru SJU front cabin + TW same as thru SXM + Winair or SBC.
