Very happy to have your recommendations . . . especially for renewing thoughts of my enjoyment of Manapany. I've always had a nice time there -- lovely setting and service . . . very good menu & food (which actually reminds me of the same at Pearl Beach). I'm put off by going to Manapany, however, because of the gauntlet of traffic congestion in getting there on the truly "local" streets that sometimes become, unintentionally, one-way (requiring someone to back-up for the other to pass). Quaint . . . but a bit annoying (maybe it's my age catching-up with me!).my wife and I have been on the island since Jan 12–we stay at our villa for the most part but for lunch I would highly recommend - Manapany/Le Cabane / Ti’ Corail. We had great meals and excellent service at each and you get to experience 3 different areas of the island!!
In past years -- 40+ -- I used to often go to the "New Born" Restaurant, in the same 'hood. . . a lovely, charming memory of a gracious St. Barths couple (M. & Mme. Roland Greaux) as hosts/chefs . . . and their handsome, well-mannered, hard-working, locally-refined, quite young sons, David & Franckie. Dining was on the enchanting, dimly lit (the island didn't have much electricity at the time!) porch of their home . . . which one still passes in the struggle to reach Manapany! What a lovely time it was to be at New Born (where Easter Sunday dinner for two was 455F -- $80 in 1990!)
