Are they open already?

We had a fabulous lunch there yesterday. Great menu, prices reasonable (for island) and food delicious. Lovely owner and staff. Given how new they are we were impressed and will be back next week. It was full of happy locals. Thrilled to see its transformation—all white with touches of blue—staff don striped shirts. We left with cheers for another much needed casual venue serving great food. For those who miss post-Saline lunch at Tamarin you will be happy!

Great news! What did you have? I can't seem to find a menu anywhere. Can't wait to try it out in January!

Wish I had taken photos of the menu. Will do next week. I did not have my editor’s hat on as it often goes on vacation too (!) A nice cocktail and wine selection. First page of menu offers dishes to share—we ordered a few: fritters, fried ravioli and a delicious hummus with (giraumon) squash. All very good. I then had a mahi tiradito with passion fruit, along with a side of green papaya salad. Others ordered grilled fish of the day (snapper) with ginger beurre blanc and a fabulous eggplant dish. We finished with a shared coconut flan and welcome shots of rum☀️

We visited tonight. The restaurant is practically full and early. A good mix of locals and tourists. Tuna tartare is very unique, with a very spicy pimento-like ice-cream (our waiter even warned me not to eat it alone) on the top. The coconut rice as a side was good but not as good as one that Manu used to do in Santa Fe. Deserts are not on the same level though, feels like they all prepared in advance and kept in the fridge. Roma Baba was not really with the time inside. It was all on the bottom of the dish.

The building underwent very significant remodeling. It is now much bigger in size and in the split-level (more US than Caribean) concept. Again, it lost some of the old-style wooden shack spirit of yore, but the same redesign happens or happened with many modernized villas on the island.

I also have to commend Margo, the owner, that while she apparently spent a good chunk of money on remodeling, training the stuff (which is pretty good I must say), etc., she is not trying to fleece her customers with exorbitant prices to get quick ROI (as unfortunately some others did, and lost), but is gaining it slowly with good service and reasonable prices. And did I mention that the service is fast, effective and friendly.
