Restaurants Open in September?

Hello,

My husband and I are visiting St Barts for the first time during low season and we're wondering what restaurants (and possibly hotels) are open the month of September. If anyone knows we will be grateful for the information.

Thank you very much,
Beth

Almost all of the hotels are closed as are the major restaurants...such as the beach clubs, etc. Some local places are open and there are very few if any tourists in September as it is the height of hurricane season. The docks are empty, the catamarans for day sails are out of the water, and it's very quiet....

Don't know if your plans are set, but September is usually the most active month for hurricane activity. And, as Ellen mentioned, a lot of things are closed that month. I would suggest another time of year for your trip if it is not already set. Things start to open back up in October if you are truly set on a Fall trip.

As Dennis pointed out some wonderful places will be open, so for someone looking for a really chill vacation with empty beaches, etc, it could work out. But if someone is looking for the St Barth "scene" with dancing on the tables at Nikki Beach, September is not the time. I think it depends what one is expecting or hoping to find here....

It's not the quiet vibe that would worry me- - that would be great! I just wouldn't want to be here on vacation and have to worry about busy hurricane time. September is busy in that regard. My least favorite month!

I agree, but in the past we have run into people here in Sept and October who are very disappointed that all they read about before coming is actually closed... so I do think it depends on what they are looking for in terms of their experience...

Hurricane threats, of course, are not to be forgotten. In my experience, however, there always has been very adequate warning of storm threats & time to safely get off the island. Trip insurance also will cover, I believe, expenses incurred in cutting short a vacation. As pointed out in several posts, I think that one’s comfort level with (a) some Hurricane risk & (b) a quiet island experience are the determining questions for tentative August / September / October visits.

Agree many people, especially from US can not fathom a business closing for any extended period of time.

Every time I see a post from a brand new member who blocks their profile, makes me think it’s another bot generated account looking to suck up information to train a model. I could be wrong but one has to wonder especially when there are no responses.

In that case, Beth, September is the ideal month to visit Saint-Barth. Weather is perfect. Beach clubs are jamming. A-listers everywhere and parties on the mega yachts in the harbor til dawn. But, prices are higher than at Christmas/New Years, so bring your bitcoins and gold bars.

It’s definitely a tricky time of year weather-wise, and it makes sense that some folks might not realize just how quiet the island gets in September. I guess for anyone who’s okay with the calm and knows what to expect, it could still be a nice break but, it’s probably not ideal if someone’s hoping for the full St Barts experience.
