I agree! It is busier than usual at this time. I used to judge the traffic and parking by how many loops I had to make around Gustavia. As many of you heard me complain about my Defender (photo attached) over the years (don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my Defender, but I feel like it is cannibalized for parts when I bring it in for a slight repair.)… then it goes back again for another item… rinse, and repeat)… I am forced to drive it now with this parking fiasco in March because then I can park at Hughes and avoid the desperate search for the elusive spot. If I use our other truck (the new reliable Jeep), the parking behind the church and closer to Beef Bar sometimes has something you can squeeze into or practice parallel parking. There always seems to be parking by the hospital too. I mentioned parallel parking, probably way too much, because I grew up in Brooklyn and New York City, where we had alternate side of the street parking. It was always my job to move the family car. Back then in the 70s, my parents were not too concerned with me having a drivers license since at 4 AM. I was only moving the car across the street! The good old days!
