Heading To A New Home.. God Bless America

Bonjour to our Forum friends as we begin the July 14th holiday weekend with fetes and hopefully weather permitting fireworks over Gustavia.

Many of you may already know we have made the decision to leave our island happy place, We have been in this special Lurin house for 8 wonderful years. And yes, we certainly did indeed get to live our retirement dream.

Since we have luckily and thankfully reached into our 80s with no major health issues we are finishing packing up and will next week be relocating to the state of Florida. You should know that we are grateful for this fabulous life we got to live on New York's ISLE OF LONG, and also in St Barths. (Life is good.)

We plan to continue to follow the forum postings and track your comings and goings from our new perch in Sarasota. So please do keep posting to let us know what is happening on SBH and do try to be kind and please take good care of each other and yourselves.

You, no doubt, moreover, single-handedly inspired increased & wider participation in the Forum and brought memorable comfort & enjoyment to many . . . especially among folks visiting & living on the island.

Knowing that a mantra in your life has been that one should never leave St. Barths without a plan to return, I’m confident that you & Phil will continue to be found, from time to time, in SBH Forum pics of friends gathering at all the usual places . . . and new ones. Meanwhile, I suspect that Sarasota will become a diversion for Forum members traveling in FL . . . staying in touch with you & Phil, esteemed friends.

Oh my Yankee Soul Sister and Big Guy, this salty piece of land will never be the same. I can’t imagine being there without having a pool/lunch/concert video (I’m looking at you, The Last Waltz) day with y’all. You two have provided me joy, direction, advice and admonishment on many occasions, most from the swimming pool at your various villa homes. I will cherish our time together and pray that others are to come. I can see it now: PITA Goes To Sarasota.
