Wanting to make friends

Hi all. We’ve been coming to SB for about 10 years now. We’d like to make some friends or acquaintances here or from elsewhere.
I’m Kim f 51, my husband is Dan m 66. We’re avid boaters. We are from Atlanta area and come down once or twice a year with friends from home. We tend to stay at least a couple weeks just before busy season.
We love great food but we’re not too fussy. We can dine at Le Piment or Bonito.
We are pretty laid back. Dan doesn’t drink alcohol but I DO live my cocktails and wine!
Dan is really into exotic cars and I’m into being a beach bum.
(We are not trump supporters. That’s a big deal for us.)
Anyone interested in having a meal with us in the next week?

Sorry that I won’t be there, Kim . . . good luck in meeting others, & have a wonderful visit!

Hey there! Your enthusiasm for connecting in SB is great! We share a love for good food and a relaxed vibe. I'm sure there are folks around who'd love to join for a meal. Finding common ground, be it through beach bumming or discussing exotic cars, could lead to great conversations. Enjoy your time here; it's a bit like discovering the best breakfast tacos in San Antonio—takes a bit of reaching out to find the perfect match!

Sure would enjoy talking with Dan. I am a car nut with an extensive collection :)
I try to get to the island 4-5 times per year. Maybe in the future our dates will align

I thought politics was frowned at? I guess it's Okay as long as you are not a trump supporter

Hawke . . . when I read the KPJ72 post, I had something of the same reaction. Then, however, I decided that (a) it’s not really advocating a political POV when someone includes mention of a political preference in making an introduction of him/herself; and (b) it’s probably a good idea to disclose a matter of such personal importance when looking for social meetings.

It's probably much simpler. Newbies, who are afraid of being stereotyped based on their location in the USA.
