Windsurfing lessons

My son and his wife are interested in taking windsurfing lessons when our family will be on island later this month. Just wondered if anyone on the Forum has done this and what your recommendations might be. I know this would be done on either Saint Jean or Grand Cul de Sac. I’m waiting to hear back from our WIMCO concierge also.

Thanks, in advance, for your feedback!

I used to periodically take lessons & try my “hand” at windsurfing in Grand Cul de Sac. It was a lot of fun, though I never mastered the skill of turning the board around while upright. My technique, instead — which worked very well! — was to fall off the board each time I reached a far side of the bay. Turning the board around, I’d get another exhilarating ride ‘til next time I had to reverse direction.

Dennis, you’ve got style.

Dennis, love your story and turning technique! I’d probably do the same thing…LOL! Thanks for sharing!

Luca and Jean Michele are amazing teachers. Cheryl & I watch them for hours giving lessons from our perch next to Pearl.
Thanks for the feedback, Cwater. I’ve read previous posts about Carib Waterplay and we had decided last night this is where the kids will go. And, as Kevin noted, St. Jean definitely has a better parking situation.

We have witnessed the young gal at Carib Waterplay on St. Jean beach teaching a group of youngsters.
One particular afternoon she had just gotten the class up on their windsurfers all at the same time. She happily turned to look at parents and said “voila”'!!!! Adorable.
She has been teaching a group this past week, assuming the local children must be on break.

Hi Aimee. The kids had their Easter break. Lots of island wide programs were available to them.
