Tradewinds in SBH - How long before a 12:50 flight should I arrive?

WinAir would let me on a flight 30m after arriving at SBH Airport. It seems to me there is a technical cut off time but in practice you can arrive 11:50 or later for a 12:50 flight. Is that right?

What are your experiences?- I assume I can check in online plus carry on only.

Thanks!!!

I usually do checkin an hour in advance, maybe a little bit more. Checkin is at the St Barth Services counter. They will weigh your carry-ons, enter your passport information, request copies of whatever COVID test information has not already been uploaded, and give you the boarding passes that Security in the Departure area requires. I generally want time to either hit the bar/restaurant upstairs, or to make a final pit-stop before boarding the Tradewind flight.

I understand that Tradewind is now using VeriFly, so I don't know how much of this has changed.

Tradewinds’ use of VeriFLY is so new, the agents aren’t entirely familiar with it yet. After figuring out we needed separate VeriFLY accounts to be able to align with testing interfaces, and after multiple ‘“starts and stops,” we were able to get the VeriFLY app to reach “PASS” status. Showed it to the TW agent who then proceeded to ask us for our test documents, even though that was a verified part of our pass. Looked like most people on our TW flight were not using the VeriFLY app. Guessing the TW agents will get up to speed soon enough though.

1. After showing 24 hour test in SB before flight to San Juan, I assume you don't need to show it again in San Juan, before heading to U.S on 2nd leg ?

2. Also, Do you need the San Juan green QR code screen shot thing, to board the flight from San Juan to St Barts, or do you show your actual Vaccine card once you arrive in St Barts ?

1. No one asked to see our test results last sunday in St B...
2.on our way down to St B through PR we just showed them our confirmation on Tradewind showing we were boarding a flight that day and we just went up to check in at the Tradewind counter

1. Being in PR, you've already passed the entry to the US hurdle. Your mainline airline does not need to see your test results.

If you have a 545pm tradewinds flight and there are seats on earlier one, can u leave earlier or have to pay a stand by charge ?

My experience with Tradewind is that they are very flexible and will always try to accommodate you. Obviously that will depend on space availability I would give them a call and ask, but I think you'll be fine.

When you arrive in San Juan if there are seats available on an earlier flight they will put you on it at no extra charge

No standby that I've seen, but you might have to pay the ticket difference, if there is one. I'd give them a call. Never been on hold and they've always been great answering EVERY question, no matter how trivial.

The times we have been put on an earlier flight was when we used VIP service since we had checked bags. Agent met us at AA gate and said if we hurry there was earlier flight. We hurried.

Do you need to fill in the PR Travel Safe Attestation form, for the trip back from St Barts ---> San Juan ? I only ask that because there is no way to really skip the lodging, county, municipality fill in sections, so it seems like i'm doing something wrong. Also St Barts airport is not listed as inbound flight city, etc... Thanks
