Monday May 31 at 00:08 (Paris time, 16:08 Local time), Nils Palmieri and Julien Villion were the first to cross the finish line of the 15th Transat in Double - Concarneau - Saint-Barthélemy, and the first in Figaro Bénéteau 3 The Franco-Swiss duo of TeamWork completed the course in 18 days 05 hours 08 minutes and 03 seconds, a new record for the event (the previous record had been held since 2018 by Thomas Rettant and Adrien Hardy - AGIR RECOUVREMENT in 18 days 11 hours 48 minutes and 22 seconds).

Both rookies in the Double Transat - Concarneau - Saint-Barthélemy, Nils Palmieri and Julien Villion hit a big blow by arriving first in Gustavia, in Saint-Barthélemy. Supporters of the northern option, the two men have always believed in their option, even when routing seemed to favor the "southerners". Their goal has always been to stay ahead of their group, which they have managed to do brilliantly. They beat the event record of 6 hours 40 minutes and 19 seconds.

Saw a few boats coming around at our Vitet perch then cutting around at Colombier. From my view it looked as if they couldn't catch a breath of wind. Congrats to the sailors and to Amy!

A line from Mr. Buffett sometimes comes into play when sailing around many islands. "Hole in the wind, behind the island". Sailing inshore, with tall peaks, can do that to you.

I’m looking forward to posting a graphic showing all of the overnight race completions. Consider that the supposed perfect track for this race is 3890nm. Consider that the winner, picking what they thought were the best winds, actually sailed 4239nm. Consider how many other boats may complete the race in 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, or 24 hours. In the big picture, incredibly close.

Eric Péron and Miguel Danet, sixth in the Double Transat

This Monday May 31 at 2:50 a.m. (Paris time, 18:50 local time), Eric Péron and Miguel Danet ((L'Égoïste) - Cantina St Barth) crossed the finish line of the 15th Double Transat - Concarneau - Saint-Barthélemy in sixth position . The duo who participated for the 3rd time together in the event will have taken 18d 07h 50min 33s to rally Gustavia.

Éric Péron: "The reception is extraordinary! It's always good to be with a local. All of Miguel's friends picked us up 20 miles from the finish, it was party time. Arriving on a Sunday is the perfect scenario! Should have arrived two hours earlier and that was even better. It's a crazy party this arrival. The transatlantic race was tough. We didn’t have a pilot and Miguel isn’t experienced on this kind of boat so I missed it a bit not to be able to let go. But we got to the end. The option was interesting, we managed to do some nice things so I'm pretty happy. "

Miguel Danet: “A big thank you to Eric for accompanying me once again. In life, you can always do better, but you also have to put things into perspective. For my part, I benefited from the advice of Eric. I am not from the Figaro industry. Usually, I sail on a catamaran to show the island. It has nothing to do with racing. The Figaro requires constant adjustments. It's a good personal challenge and I did everything to make it happen. "
