It says you need to show a QR code to board - and you get that code by downloading the SBH app. But, anyone can download the app. Frankly, this is needed on many levels.they are saying its not for tourists, but I believe the reason for that is to keep the taxi drivers from protesting the shuttle. I know many owners of stores in gustavia and all say they will not take the shuttle and will park in town instead. the shuttle has 22 seats available that goes every 15 to 30 minutes. do you really think the driver will ask for identification? it would slow down the shuttle.
I would love to know where the extra parking space is in St Jean.
That's funny, Diana! Somehow . . . I think that a bus driver is unlikely to think that I'm a "worker in Gustavia" . . . though maybe as a waiter at Mamo or L'Isola?they are saying its not for tourists, but I believe the reason for that is to keep the taxi drivers from protesting the shuttle. I agree, Tiffany . . . needed on so many levels! However, I remember an effort some years ago by Bernard Javelle & Alain Devaux of "Le Paradiso," formerly at the site which now is L'Isola. After they sold their wonderful restaurant, they started a bus shuttle service that widely served the island. It didn't last long, however, because under pressure from taxi drivers, numerous restrictions were put on their operations -- most notably that tickets for the buses could not be purchased onboard. What's more, the few places that were permitted to sell tickets were only open on days in which there was a full moon during leap years! Needless to say, their valiant business effort didn't last long.It says you need to show a QR code to board - and you get that code by downloading the SBH app. But, anyone can download the app. Frankly, this is needed on many levels.
LOL! I think you got that right!I would pick you up Dennis....bet the bus driver would also. if the driver has any reservations, a small tip will work I'm sure.![]()
Park City’s bus system is free too. In the morning and afternoon it is packed with skiers and boarders.Aspen has a free shuttle service that works really great. I’ve never seen so many people dressed to the nines on public transportation.
any island resident can use the shuttle....this shuttle is just for employees working in Gville. though, i imagine sales girls at dolce&gabbana etc dress to the 9's![]()
correct. that being said, do you see yourself driving from GCdS to St-Jean parking lot - waiting on the shuttle coming and going - to go to dinner or lunch or run an errand in town ? doesn't seem like something that would appeal to moi . . .any island resident can use the shuttle....

I hope it frees up parking in town for non-residents/non-workers.It’s a start. I hope the shuttle service proves to be a good thing.
Yes as a matter of fact, I would. leaving the car in St Jean and being dropped off in town sounds delightful actually... better than driving around for 20 minutes looking for a space, and we even have a handicapped card but those spaces are usually full as well, sometimes by people who don't belong in them, taxis, scooters, etc.correct. that being said, do you see yourself driving from GCdS to St-Jean parking lot - waiting on the shuttle coming and going - to go to dinner or lunch or run an errand in town ? doesn't seem like something that would appeal to moi . . .
