Shout out to Black Ginger

Went to Black Ginger last week with some friends who were visiting, and it occurred to me that this stalwart establishment doesn't get enough love here on the forum.

Everything we had was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Their green curry is some of the best out there and second only to my favorite restaurant in Chicago, Le Colonial. My friends had scallops, fresh fish with pepper, and the crying tiger sliced beef. We also started with the calamari and red curry dumplings - - all were delectable. In fact, out of the many meals we had while they were here, this was definitely one of their favorites. There is a reason Black Ginger has been on the dining scene here for over a decade.

So, give Black Ginger some love next time you are looking for a nice dining experience that isn't trying too hard, and delivers good, solid dishes at a reasonable (for SBH) price point. I hope they stay around for a long time to come!

We are fans too. We also use Black Ginger takeout at least once a trip for a meal on the pool deck.

Hadn't ever tried it, but a few years were invited to join a couple of the "Junies" and been going back each year since. A nice break from all the tartare's and durade.

I always value your reviews . . . and tonight you got me at “delectable!” I agree . . . a winner in dining. The problem, as has been often quoted … “so many restaurants, so little time!”

I agree Black Ginger is amazing. Even my picky kids (5/8) love it here. We go at the first seating due to before mentioned kids.

We always make it to Black Ginger for one dinner and will do so again in May. It’s a good switch from the Italian we love other nights. I appreciate BG is always consistent every year for us as well. Good call with the green curry.
