Saint Barth on 10K, 100K and 1M

Very poorly done. Where have all the fact checkers gone to? Pronunciation sloppy. “La Gloriette” mispronounced and closed for a few years. Silly stuff.

don't think the bargain basement scenario really is $10,000 . . . even if you fly in the back of the plane, and if you stay at Tropical Hôtel in low, low season.

I think she is trying to say La Guerite not La Gloriette by her pronunciation of Colombe-Bay for Colombier is pretty funny... and these people probably get free hotel rooms as "influencers"?

Well I'm leaving in a couple of weeks for an 8 night stay -- and plan to stay significantly under this $10K budget.

1) Got a good deal on direct JetBlue flights non-stop to SXM. Mosaic status gets us to 'Even More Space' seats. Add SBC fares and the total is around $1200 r/t for two people.
2) We're staying in an AirBnB that we've used before. Somewhat out-of-the-way (by Le Toiny) but we have our own private pool and great views of Petit Cul-de-Sac. Around $2400 for the 8 nights (and this doesn't count buying 'discount' AirBnB gift cards).
3) Got a good deal on a car rental -- about $250 for a Kia Picante.
4) We mainly go to non-hotel beaches during the day -- so very little expense. Even the beach chairs were purchases many trips ago and stored at above AirBnB. Ti Corail, JoJo Burger and Le Creperie are pretty cheap lunches. Neither one of us are drinkers.
5) So main expense will be meals. These will no doubt be expensive (already booked at Toiny, Papillon Ivre, Le Sereno, Sand Bar, Le Tamarin, L'Esprit, Bonito) - but reaching $10K would be a stretch.

1) $1,200 is cheap and not a realistic fare for most people - especially those not living in major airline market. add your flight to SBH $

2) right, your Airbnb on PCdS way cheaper than the 5 star Tropical Hotel specified

3) 23 euros a day for rental car in high season ? hmmm

4) no alcohol unrealistic (and undesirable) for most of us 😎

5) bingo - we spend $300 to $400 (or more) per meal at these kinds of spots.

No doubt about #5!

$1200 includes SBH fare. JetBlue fare is around $600 r/t for 2 people. As I say -- we got a good deal. Actually used 42,000 JetBlue points -- so only cash outlay was taxes.

"23 euros a day for rental car in high season ? hmmm"

Using Autounion. Never used them before. Hoping it'll work out. Used 21.3K 'Chase points' -- so again no cash outlay.
