In the year 2000, Open That Bottle Night began as a tradition started by Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher, a husband and wife journalism team. Dorothy and John decided that there needed to be an annual occasion to open your favorite bottle of wine to share with friends and family. Every year on the last Saturday of February, people everywhere carry on this special tradition of opening and sharing wines with loved ones.
