Eggplant, particularly Eggplant Parmigiana, is a favorite dish of mine. They were out of eggplant at Al Mare during our recent visit. Isoletta offers a small, starter-sized portion, but Lucali knocks the ball out of the park with their ample and delicious offering. We were also impressed with the specials blackboard offering, among other items, truffle-flavored dishes including a rigatoni in cheese sauce. We started with a special salad of greens, pistachio nuts and blue cheese in a tangy vinegrete. Dan had a grilled fish with a side salad and I had the eggplant. Pizza? Yes, but Lucali is more than a pizzaria! (They have a full bar and a large wine list, which we did not sample having had evening cocktails at our villa.)
