L'Esprit ~ A Thank You!

I'm posting this in the main forum because it spans a few topics. I am so grateful to @cec1 for all of his help to find the perfect gift for a very special person on the island. I think gift certificates to L'Esprit are wonderful and are so meaningful to special folks where handing out euros isn't the most personal. With our situation, we are sad that we can't make it to 7pm - 7:30pm dinners because we adopted a severely epileptic dog, and 7pm dinners are difficult with the medication schedule. It is also uncomfortable for others to see a dog having a seizure so we do stay at home at night. That being said, I hope others can enjoy L'Esprit. I have to say that I reached out to @cec1 (Dennis) and viola, everything was organized. Tof was the best! He delivered the gift certs on this beautiful gold color paper and envelop. They even email it if you wish. All of this was coordinated in less than a few hours and I didn't drive anywhere! Tof insisted that it was easy for him to drop the gift certificate off at our villa so I wouldn't have to leave the dog.

I sometimes cannot believe the kindness and generosity of people. Not only the friends on the forum who have helped out so much over the years (thank you also to Ellen!) but we aren't even folks who can easily make it to dinner. I know Tof and the L'Esprit team are wonderful, and I would hope everyone makes it there to enjoy not only a wonderful dinner, but also know that there is the human side. Knowing there are wonderful, caring people behind the every-day living on St. Barts is so important. I remember dinners at L'Esprit (before we adopted the little dog) and they were wonderful! I read Dennis's posts and wish we could join so hopefully others go and post photos!!

I know the recipients of this gift cert will love this and it's a great idea for a gift, especially for the local folks who may not always be dining out. I hope the photo loads...as I am still technically challenged unlike my grandchildren!

Eloquent, Jamie! . . . a very gracious post, as well as a message that gets to the heart of "old St. Barths!" Tof & Owner/Chef Jean-Claude are vital in knowing and seeking to maintain the courtesy, fair pricing, & culture of SBH's historic past . . . not to mention "fine dining." I'm confident that everyone on the Forum values your commitment to care of "Iris" and hope that her medication regimen can be tailored to permit you & husband Dave to be with us soon at L'Esprit. Lots of love to you for your sensitivity to the person who deserves this generous gift and for your caring concern for Iris, whom everyone who met her would love to nurture!
