La Langouste: A Favorite Worth A couple Of Visits

Wednesday for lunch at La Langouste we enjoyed some examples from their Creole selections including squash pie, stuffed crabs and conch fricassee. With a few of our perennial favorites gone we find ourselves choosing to visit and re -visit venues we really enjoy.

Always our first night as it's a short walk from "our" villa. Love the christophine.

That all looks good, especially the Conch/Lambi fricassee. It brings back fond memories of a similar dish at the original La Gloriette.

We absolutely love La Langouste! The famous A & P are the best dining companions and it took us 2 trips to find the restaurant..ok, we tried at night first.not too smart as the Baie des Anges sign is invisible; however we follow the green fence and the turn to the right. We might actually try to do lunch there on our 1 day if we can’t make it into Eden Rock.

Always a solid choice! The Créole Plate is always a Mr. Rêve go-to order. It's nice to have a place like this still around.

We always try to make a 7:30 dinner reservation as the wait staff (often just a single person) can get a bit overwhelmed. Earlier usually gives us a chance to chat with them a bit when ordering.

Don’t you love having a “solid” canteen in the ‘hood! Whether visiting only 1-2/x a year or more often, if visitors return on a recurring basis to a particular restaurant (or 2 or 3!), an impression is established with hosts & staff. The welcoming that comes with doing so is an earmark of island restaurant hospitality.
