My wife and I stayed at villa Asia Pearl (WIMCO code MJS) in January of 2016 (its been a while). We have not stayed in villa Hurakan, so I can not specifically compare the two. We are villa promiscuous so we have never stayed in the same villa twice. We have previously stayed in (VDD, MJS, PAG, WSH and UPS).
Out of all of the villas we have stayed in, I would say that MJS was at the bottom of the list. The villa was nice, just we preferred some of the other villas we have stayed in.
A few notes:
-The driveway is long and steep. At the top, there is very little area to turn around in. I don't know how we managed to get two cars up there on arrival day.... but we did manage to turn our car around with my wife spotting and a 30 point turn. We resorted to backing up the driveway when we came back to the villa. Backing up wasn't bad at the driveway was somewhat straight, and I thought it was the better of the two options.
-We found the pool to be extremely cold for January. It was so cold that he was hardly ever used. Except for our first night stay, I don't think we were ever in it.
-The villa has dark wood.... and could use a fan to help with some of the mosquitoes.
-The doors on the bedroom don't lock that well (or at least they didn't 10 years ago) so anyone can get into the bedroom
-The shower is outside.... a nice touch, but while we were there, there was a huge ant infestation in the shower. I am not exactly sure why, but it might have had to do with something we might have done??
-We found the villa to be quite windy. This could be normal, or it could be because of the Christmas winds that effect the island in January. It is towards the top of the hill and there really isn't much of a hill to protect you.
Besides that, the villa was extremely quite and very private. There is no one above you or to the left or right sides of the villa. There is another villa directly below MS. I think, at the time, it might have been a residence. It didn't bother us at all. The villa was a cozy little spot. It had everything we needed and had magnificent views of SXM and Anguilla. If it was my only option for a villa then I would rent it again.
I don't have very many photos of the villa (just the one I posted below).... so I can't really help you there. I could ask my wife if she has any photos if you are interested in anything specific. I think she took a ton of photos.
Edit: I took a look on Google Earth (which hasn't been updated since April of 2023 for this area). At the time the phot was taken there is a large excavation going on at the bottom of the driveway.... I am guessing it is the installation of another villa..... I would guess two years later the villa is well under way. Google Earth has the driveway at approx 160' long.... and so this construction would be approx 160' away from the villa).
