Day 9

Final hours on the island. We had a great time as always. Looking back we can’t believe we’ve been here 7 times. Can remember when we were staying in Oyster Pond and saw St Barths in the distance “ think we’ll ever make it there?’ Finally booked the trip in maybe 2015 & haven’t looked back. Missed a year due to covid like many others but all is back to normal. Just spent the day at the pool & ate in… clearing the fridge of stuff. Hit the Super U for something to warm up for dinner, something simple. Found a great ready to warm meal in the back cooler. Couple drinks on the balcony & said bye to several friends…. And a goodbye to all you enjoying our report.

My final recap will be after we get home, couple things I’d like some feedback on.

Many thanks for a report I looked forward to every day! Bon retour!

And speaking of Oyster Pond, in 1981, they were just building that area in Saint Martin, and my new friends and my husband and I all went there to snorkel at a new hotel…except I didn’t know how, and they basically threw me in with a mask and no fins, and I almost drowned for real..so I finally tried it again 20 years later in SBH on a boat trip from Jicky Marine to Colombier and used a life belt this time..a real game changer! Too bad the snorkeling is not so great but being a turtle lover, I did get to see some. We have them at GCdS, though. Wish they still had those boat trips; they are now thousands of $$$€€ just for a few hours!
