āAll good things must come to an endā ā¦. I really donāt like that phrase, but true as it is we head out tomorrow, Sunday.
Now to yesterday's report. We hit Colombe around 6, the pastry displays are all full to the gills. Take our coffee & pastry outside. Hustle & bustle of workers grabbing morning coffee. I notice the painters pulling up in their nice shiny van⦠probably the best work vehicle Iāve seen here. I got to talking with them, good English from them. Told them Iām a painter from outside Chicago, work for U-46 ( Elgin school district) we have a 3 man crew maintaining 70 schools, they were a little surprised only 3 guys going that kind of work. 20 guys working steady here in their group. Theyāre currently doing the new addition at the dock & really hustling to complete it ASAP. Met the bakers who been pumping it out since midnight, they looked tired but cheerful we came over to say hello, suppose it can feel like a thankless job working those hours.
Think weāll try to make the Christmas village tonight, if we can find a parking spot. Cloudy rainy morning, good for my skin. Knocking down the rest of our fromageās & breads, we can handle that. Gonna miss the pool & the view next week⦠soaking it in. Turtles everywhere this year, large & very tiny.
With the horseshoe I must be carrying, we get a terrific spot on the harbor front. Lot of families out for the xmas village tonight which has been moved to the Museum area. MASSIVE boats lined up along the event, looks like an armada, except bigger! Arrived there early & got a table near the stage, again ā horseshoeā! Nice food court area & 3⬠Carib, along with holiday gifts for sale. The 1st mates of the ship Relentless set up 4 nice wicker chairs & here comes Mr & Mrs Relentless in their custom VIP chairs. Apparently they are the ones that set up the band playing tonight, Gypsy Dreams⦠Fleetwood Mac tribute. Great time & thank you Mr & Mrs Relentless! Town was alive & jumping as we left the event. Gonna miss the island but will return same time next year!
