Sargassum (AKA Seaweed)

Cliff

SBH Insider
Yesterday I noticed all the weeds floating in toward Guanahani, and today the stuff is piled up on the beach. I did some research and learned about the Sargasso Sea which is in the middle of the North Atlantic, about the size of the US, and the source of all the stuff washing up on the beaches. Here is a link with all the info: http://www.brosnancenter.com/sargassum-summer.html
Now you can walk up to a stranger and say "Wow, did you see all that sargassum over on St Jean?" Undoubtedly they will be impressed when you explain it all the them!

There is a ton of it over on Flamands today also. A bunch this morning but it seems to all be moving with the currents to the west side of the beach.

Perhaps we can convert it to shipping/packing supplies for wrapping the take home rhum!

Golly, that was such a fright AND an embarrassment!

Me, pointed out at the SBH airport by a French beagle!

Whomever figures out how to make the seaweed into rhum is the winner.

Three or four weeks ago there were published articles that stated the seaweed in the Caribbean isles was abating due to seasonal weather and tidal patterns and no longer posed an issue. Hmmm.
