I have a friend in mebane nc who is a land developer, he named one of the subdivisions st. bart. He and his wife had been coming to st. barths for many years. they stopped coming in 2002 when he was bit by a mosquito and had to be hospitalized. I saw them on my last vacation, they still think of this island fondly.

Mebane will be the home of a new Buc-ee’s, which is expected to open in November of next year. Buc-ee’s tends to increase land value in the surrounding area and attract other businesses, both retail and commercial. Perhaps your friend will be one of the land developers who profits from it.

Buc-ee's under construction at exit 8 of I 95 Hardeeville SC the gateway to Bluffton & Hilton Head, people are looking forward to this place to stop en route to 'the north' or to the beaches of HHI.
