Santa Fe

I will be traveling to the south of France in a few weeks. I think I remember that the young man who had owned Sante Fe had moved to the South of France and had a restaurant. Does any one have any information on this - I would love to visit. I remember back when he was with Adam at Sapitillier (spelling ?)

We ate there last September. The restaurant seemed to be doing well and Manu sounded like he had found his place. Any idea why?

I didn’t ask. He’s a smart guy. My guess is that in selling an established restaurant he and Marisol saw an opportunity to get a return on their investment, and a chance to move on to new opportunities.

the people that you mentioned andy, david , adam etc who left , were men who lived here and owned a business and sought a better income/lifestyle elsewhere. andy is doing well with his business in thailand. I believe david is in scotland and is also doing well. as far as mikeR goes, he was just a tourist, he never lived here.

Agree as I follow all of them on social media. Never mentioned that tourist😂

Tongue in cheek.

Definitely has its challenges when you are trying to make a living but the prices have risen quite a bit and maybe it would be a bit easier now?
When I was on the island in march, I was talking with a (transplanted) local, and when commenting on what it must be like to live in paradise, she spoke her head and said, "It's a small island. Very small."

Living month after month, year after year on 8 sq miles is not for everyone . . .
when I lived in the maryland area many years ago, I did not venture out much past 5 miles from home ( I was working and had a retail shop nearby, so I went to work and came home, perhaps a movie and/or dinner once a week and that was it, I did go to asia quite often for business, its a plane ride) , so the 8 sq miles is not important in the overall scheme of things.

When I lived on St Croix in 1968, I was told you have to get off the rock every once in awhile. My 2 days off, lucky to get 2, but they were split so I only had a day each time, so it was either beach or fly on the Goose to St Thomas when friends were visiting.

I would have no problem residing on St. Barth. You can see for miles and miles out to the ocean. So many fine people and places to visit. So many restaurants. What is to long for which is not here...
