But here are notably different prices from before that date. If you’re planning to book before mid-January, you may want to consider jumping on that.

Depends when you fly. I just picked a random trip right after high season (Apr 21-28) and most flights were $519, with the peak hours around $700. Of course, I ALSO had to peek at charters..... Sigh..... Although I must say, if I filled the eight seats and used their block purchase program, it's not THAAAAATTTT ridiculous compared to regular scheduled flights.....

I purchased tickets in February for flights this November and the prices were that high. Close your eyes and click on purchase.
Guess I was surprised to see the same price no matter the time of the booking on a particular day. Typically, there is a price adjustment for flights on either end of the day’s scheduled flights.

Agree. But apparently it's variable according to their pricing models. 🤷‍♂️
We had to change a mid-afternoon SBH-SJU flight last month to a midday flight. Most midday flights were $859 or so, but they added a flight and it was $559 or so. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

We are on a 8:15 morning flight over in a few weeks for 350 per person
Return at 8:30am for 550. Been flying Tradewind for quite some time and still can’t figure out their fares

Tradewind prices don’t matter. What matters is the total picture. I always tell people to run the numbers. Maybe they come out financially ahead with SJU and Tradewind, maybe they don’t. Then you need to figure out the other factors. Is it worth money to you to avoid SXM, or does it make sense to go through SXM with a VIP service? If you take Tradewind will you need to overnight in SJU?

For me, in years past, the Popovers on an overnight at the Ritz Carlton SJU gave me so many attaboy points that the cost (both hotel and Tradewind) really didn’t matter. (Will the Ritz EVER reopen?). Your mileage may vary 😂.

And yes. I’ve mentioned the Popovers many times over the years. It really has always been about the Popovers. How do you make your significant other happy? Mine loves Popovers, especially with the touch of Gruyère that BLT adds. So we overnighted at the Ritz, and we had BLT Popovers. Sometimes, that made financial sense with Tradewind, and sometimes it didn’t. But oh, those attaboy points, 😂.

Again, run the numbers. Factor in what matters. You may end up flying Tradewind out of SJU, you may be flying SBC/Winair out of SXM (perhaps with assist from Premium IV). Run the numbers.

Attaboy! Always on the mark with sound thinking, Kevin! (Now . . . if only The Ritz Carlton (can‘t forget the last name . . . it always gets great service for me!) would reopen!)

we recently booked our air tickets for February '27 trip. ran the numbers with RT thru SJU, ones ways outbound to SXM/return from SJU, and multi-city itineraries via AA and DL with TW and/or WA/SBC connections. (I will consider outbound connecting thru SXM with PIV coddling but will not even contemplate return thru SXM.)
grand totals all flights and services accounted for (with front cabin fares) were virtually identical RT thru SJU and one ways SXM/SJU. so we're doing RT thru SJU with RT TW to/from SBH.
obviously those who fly nonstop to SJU or SXM from major markets may likely encounter different variables.
