La Guérite Beach - St Jean

So true, Ellen! Those were some of the best days of my life . . . especially when “Camp David” REALLY was a Camp! (There has to be a new book in our future!)
I noticed a big yellow crane where Villa DAD/CEO once stood. Looks like they are putting in something LARGE. I assume the little yellow house has been swallowed up as well.

Please try to observe, John. When I was there in October / November, the big crane was present . . . but my special little "case" still was intact.

To put the sound in perspective, Nikki Beach only gets hopping with loud music during the second seating on Sunday, and on Saturday at times. During the week it’s actually quite mellow there. GypSea is much longer than it is wide and doesn’t occupy a significant amount of beach space. I have dined there and don’t remember loud music, even later on a Sunday.

I expect La Guerite will be more of a Nikki Beach scene on the weekend.

I agree, Jeanette . . . particularly in that area, there’s value for restaurants to be respectful of the ‘hood. Local complaints about noise would invite greater community oversight intrusion. Having said that, I wouldn’t recommend staking an umbrella & setting-up “camp” in front of these restaurants on a Sunday afternoon, unless one is looking for vibe without a service charge.

3 dueling DJ’s now on what used to be a peaceful beach..
I agree! Love that beach as it had less wind, fairly easy parking and could hook onto the wifi at gyp sea. Is there any space left we one can set up a beach chair without interfering with the lunch guests view?

Thanks,Kevin.

Can always count on you.

17...boy oh boy and still going STRONG in 2023! You Rock.

Just spent 2 weeks above St. Jean. The beach to the right of Nikki is all inclusive Nikki, Gyp Sea and Le Guerite.
Not the same quiet beach to take a swim.
And we could hear the pound pound from our villa
Didn’t ruin our day at all but we don’t down go there anymore

Hi everyone, What is the top, hands-down restaurant you wouldn't miss on your visit to St. Barths?
