Villa Suggestions - July 2024

Hello,

Hoping to receive some advice from the forum on selecting a villa for my wife and I to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in St Barth in July 2024. We value privacy, quiet, a great view, fully air-conditioned, and a heated pool.

So far, we have narrowed our short-list to the following and hoping you all can provide some reviews/feedback on them to help make a decision!
  • Embruns - Flamands
  • Ty Bihan - Grand cul de sac
  • Tam - Vitet
  • Kercliff - Colombier

"fully air-conditioned" caught my attention. we've never had a villa with AC beyond bedrooms. with good breezes never felt the need. fwiw.
AC in bedroom essential though, imho.

Years ago when it was new, we looked at Embruns as a possibility, but seeing that it was connected to the main home & a somewhat see thru fence of bamboo from the main home upper level deck, we nixed Embruns from our list.

We stayed at Embruns last year and really enjoyed it. The owner does live in the property above (and behind), but you would never know it, and we only saw him once or twice when he came to service the jacuzzi (he was very nice and speaks English). The housekeeper is also wonderful. The location is great if you enjoy Flammands beach! We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed at Kercliff about ten years ago. It is a gorgeous property and we loved the house and surrounds. It is beautifully decorated! It is a long way to the beach and there are quite a few stairs from the parking area to the house. My husband has had hip replacement since our stay, so we probably wouldn’t choose this property now, but only because of the stairs.

Not to thread jack, but can any of our experienced members comment on the following ?

1. Diamond (St Jean)
2. Ocean Palm (Gouverneur)
3. Gearon (Petite Saline)
4. Kailio (Colombier)

I attempted La Baleine, but villa company said they won't do 4 nights in July (this is a rather quick trip for us). We are coming for 4th of July weekend and beyond.

Not sure if its of interest (1 BR) but we just got back from a stay in La Tortue in Lorient and absolutely loved it. I think it has essentially what you're asking for above.

Villa Dadaye in Lorient is fully air-conditioned and has a beautiful view. We’ve stayed there several times (as recently as 3 weeks ago) and even though it’s centrally located, it has a very private setting. We rent directly from the owner, but it’s also posted with several agencies if you prefer using one.

We’ve rented Baleine for less than a week before. I would get the rental company to ask the owner for an exception. Its hard to beat that view.

Thank you all for the feedback and tips. We've decided to eliminate Embruns from consideration. Still having a hard time deciding between the others.

We've heard great and consistent feedback on Kercliff. Any experience with these others?

Love the look of Ty Bihan - it is modern and chic and checks all the boxes. But the view from Tam looks incredible and is a nice place too. Would love any thoughts!

Thank you for this suggestion! We were considering Tortue on our last trip but it is not available during the dates we need this time unfortunately. Appreciate the tip though!

If anyone has contact information for Villa Kercliff it would be greatly appreciated. The link on Instagram is 4 yrs old and no new posts in awhile. Anyone know how long the walk is to get to the beach from this Villa? Thanks.

I get the love for St. Barth in July, but if you ever feel like switching things up a bit, I stayed at one of the holiday villas for rent in marbella last summer and it had similar Caribbean-style vibes but with a Spanish twist. The villa had a private pool, great outdoor space, and was close to the beach, which made for super easy and fun days with the kids.

The beach is straight down the hill from Kercliff. I was not about to walk it. Kercliff is beautiful and the view is outstanding.
