Villa Bonjour

We booked with Rosita for a last minute trip - we can't wait! Sounds wonderful!!!
Congratulations. Nothing better than a last minute trip to sbh. Well any trip to sbh is great but nothing like a surprise. Have a fantastic trip. 19 days and counting for us. Major tingles

Funny you bring that up I remember that walk you 2 did and just a few days ago we were saying we should do it this year.

I would challenges some of the "kids" around here to the Colombier "two ways" hike!

Great hike - did it twice last visit! Below is my proof.

I think they must be referring to the "hard" way up or down from Colombier, rather than the path from La Petite Anse... JEK,TIM?

First trip we went up and back the hard way... We didn't know about the other trail. Really really don't recommend up the hard way. We were pretty sure we were on a goat trail not intended for humans. It wasn't easy and we were young then...your loop sounds like a fun challenge although that last bit on the road must feel long.

The road portion isn't as much long as it is steep. There's a little-known road that runs one way downhill from near Jean Magras' La Pigeonnière in Colombier down to Flamands, to a point near the entrance to the Hotel Baie des Anges/La Langouste. It's steep and zigzags its way up the hillside. As Tim says, it's the St Barth version of Lombard St. Hiking up that road will definitely get your heart rate going!

Years ago, I was staying with friends at villa STN, which was between Francois Plantation and 'Ti Morne. Two of them would hike from the villa, to the Colombier lookout, down to the beach, take a quick dip, and retrace their steps back up to the villa. Every morning.

We can't wait. Sounds wonderful. Any recommendations for us?
...For those nights when you don't feel like driving far, especially after cocktails at the Gazebo watching sunset....right around the corner is Les Bananiers....great for Pizza, or full dinner.....I consider their escargot the best I have ever had on the island. Real friendly staff, very comfortable......great food and very reasonable. You are going to love Baleine and Rosita....
