St. Barts Map Bracelet

I have a question, which way do you wear your island bracelet? Does the island face you correctly or an admirer, facing out? I was thinking about that today as I put my island necklace on. I have the bracelet also but choose not to wear it.

I wear mine with the island facing me, as I am the most important person! :D

I think the store where I purchased mine is called Casa de Oro. It's across from the ferry dock. Good place for a less expensive choice. Mine is sterling with a genuine fake diamond, their prices range from 20E-75E. I think I need to save up for piece from Miot. She charmed me with a piece you can wear as either a bracelet or a necklace with multiple pearls. I was so sad to leave the store without it.

Hey St Barth lover! Good question. I asked the same question to the creator of Denizen Bracelet.
"How did you envision people wearing your bracelet"? His answer was unequivocally, "unlike a watch, you need to check every so often, the bracelet is a map. A map always points to the north for all to see. So, the north should point up towards the shoulder and not towards the ground. It happens also wearing that proper way, all others can admire it without having to flip their heads as if they were trying to look at Australians standing upright."
I hope I quoted him right.

"He added, anyway, after a couple of days you will not even look at the map as a map, just as the material object of an emotional connection you have with whatever location you picked."

By the way, yesterday, I received mine, I ordered from the Denizen Bracelet website. I will take a picture of it.
SBH lover, since you are from Cape Cod, look what I saw.

Regarding the vaccine, I think I read somewhere some labs are manipulating donkey genes with good hope to resurrect intelligence.

Crazy coincidence -- I was glancing through this month's issue of InStyle magazine, and there was a blurb about http://borderlinejewelry.com/ and their Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Long Island charm jewelry. It's weird how things tend to converge.................

Jules, check out my post on page 2 of this thread. I got a fabulous piece at Fabienne Miot in May - it sounds what you're describing as something that can be worn as a bracelet or a necklace. Now you definitely have to go back and make sure you walk out with one this time!!

Chazzay, yep it was similar, I love the look of the leather cord wrapped around your wrist. Tres chic. The one I liked had maybe 12 pearls (no SBH charm), so that's why I had to leave without it! I'll just have to start saving up for next time...

Here is the bracelet I bought from Le Artisans. Most of their items are geared for the women but I thought this worked for a male.

Pat actually bought this for me. A wonderful gift from a wonderful woman. Just like the island and Pat. I fell in love from first sight.

Wear it in the best of health, Phil A smashing piece of art for your wrist

Tie the knot

Does anyone know or have the instructions on how to tie the knot pictured below. I too need to replace the cord for a similar bracelet. Thanks.
I have one exactly like that. I wear it everywhere. Unfortunately I broke the bracelet a while back, but it's an easy fix. Well worth the €30.

Ask a sailor.

I was fortunate to link up with Wendi from NH when mine broke and she tied it in a second!

Thanks Joey for that answer. I will have to remember that one. I did go to the site after I read this post and looked for a Cape bracelet. The question now...Could one wear more than one on a wrist??? I don't think it would look right.

hey St Barth lover,

how are you my dear.

To the contrary, I think it would look awesome. I see many on islands wearing 2 or more at a time. They tend to be noticeable when you know what they are. In the catalog I kept, I found this image for you. I see them being collectible items from every place they are available. It certainly would work better than a key chain or a t-shirt. At least it is my opinion. In fact I'm heading to Southampton next week. I will look forward to grabbing one for my daughter's birthday. Actually I bought one on their website. I returned 10 days later to buy another one, they sold out. I think we should all ask for some form of compensation from the Denizen. Anyway I registered to be informed as soon as they become available again.

Hi smichel,

why don't you contact these guys at Denizen bracelet. They probably will help you out. I'm sure they must have a customer service facility with all the volume they do manufacturing the bracelet for each of the locations in their website. They must somehow restring. I don't think these bracelet cordons are meant to last for ever. it's only woven cotton after all. I would give them a call or quick email.

I like the double strand. It looks good and chances are two would not shred at the same exact time so you have a bit of loss insurance having the two cords.
