St. Barts in July

Considering a last minute trip end of June to first week of July. What is there to do? Are restaurants/shops closed during low season? Recommendations for a young couple on a budget but have champagne taste.

July is a great time to be on St Barth. Prices for accommodations are much less than high season, and most shops and restaurants are open. There is just as much to do as any other time of year although it's a bit warmer, but not uncomfortable. We have been coming in July for the past 20 years, and will be there this year.

Many of the hotels are running summer programs with a car and either a lunch or dinner, plus other perks, included. You can also find many good deals on rental villas from companies like WIMCO, and directly from villa owners. Check out the info on the right side of the page for villas, hotels, cars, etc.

Tammwi - we are from Dallas - would be fun to see another Texan! We would come in the 28th and stay through the 4th. We went two years ago for our honeymoon and fell in love with the Island. Can't wait to get back!

We went mid July a few years ago. Most things seemed open, but it did seem significantly warmer than on other trips.
Not sure if it is always that way or if we just went on a hot year.

Listen, I don't hate Dallas anymore than Houston, where I grew (almost) up. Well...maybe a little more.

Anyway, Austin is better than both of 'em.

Your recollection of the town is probably different from my recollection.

When your primary experience was "fly in, go to ranch, wade through cactus tightening barb wire" for about a week or two in the summer, you develop a more nuanced view of it.

Great food though.
