Two days ago was our first full day on the island. We spent it on Saline where the wind and surf were rough.
We climbed over the rocks to Petite Saline to swim with some protection from the waves. We provisioned further at JoJo, Lorient Mini Mart, and Oasis, getting a feel for the advantages of each. Then a clean up, BAZ meetup, and Eddy's eat up.
Yesterday we started developing a rhythm for our stay in St Barts. The day began with grease up, DEET up, and eat up.
What should we do? How about some exercise? A hike to the washing machine
and natural pools.
On the way we say about 30 goats galloping above us.
After a refreshing dip with waves breaking over the rocks,
with the agrahams and others, we hiked back where we encountered the agrahams again ministering to the dogs in the other thread. Near the stone wall we saw this hummingbird.
A drive along Grand Fond and up past Toiny and we soon came to Grand Cul de Sac. Lunch? Mais oui. Still in our bathing suits, La Gloriette beckoned with a feet-in-the-sand meal of Langouste Cassolette and Bufalo Caprese salad accompanied by a glass of Chardonnay.
We shopped at the Boucherie across from the Hideaway and picked up some escalope de veau et entrecote de boeuf. Then on to the Marche U (where we ran into Dan and Julianne and also Rosemond) for foie gras, Sauternes, and other supplies for our dinner. We prepared a great meal with a foie gras and applesauce starter, veal cordon bleu, ice cream and vanilla rum.
Now it's time to get up, grease up, DEET up, and eat up before tonight's meetup. How will this day unfold?
