Saint Barth Babysitter/Nanny?

Hi!

I've been a long-time reader of this forum and a lover of Saint Barth since I first came here on a sailing trip in high school in the 90's. Since those early days, I've proposed to my now-wife on the island and brought our kids here several times. We will be returning on August 10-17th, and are potentially looking for a nanny/babysitter to watch our youngest 1.5 year old son while we and the 2 older kids (5 & 7) go to dinner on the island. We would also be open to having them come during the day so that we can explore the island while the baby naps.

Does anyone happen to have recommendations on a babysitter or nanny that could help us while we are on the island? I would rather work with someone directly than try to use a service. Ideally this person would speak at least some english as my wife and I do not speak french. We would be open to as much or as little days and times as someone has to help. I would also value any thoughts as to expected rates on the island.

Thank you so much for any feedback, introductions or ideas!

Or, even though time is tight and this would probably apply to your next vacation to St. Barths: What we've done with our kids in SBH when they were young, and our daughter has done, along with us, several times for our grandkids is to bring along a nanny or trusted babysitter from home. They get a free SBH vacation and you get care for your kids from someone you know and trust. And all in all, the finances aren't all that bad in comparison. Happy to provide more detail as needed.

I would recommend that you have a relative at home take care of the kids and you enjoy your vacation.
Hawke, they could often work as well. Giggling. Loved our family vacations but when we got to go as a couple, a totally different reenergizing and romantic experience. Luckily, I found a friend with 3 sons and we covered at home for each other. 6 boys was a handful and a carful, but we knew our time away was coming and made it work.

We did the same, Bob, when our son and daughter were young (now 32 and 30). Our niece, who was in her late teens at the time, joined us on one trip…2001 if memory serves. We had the best of both worlds and worth the ad

Oops, fat fingered the iPad. I meant to say we had the best of both worlds… family time and a built in sitter, who we trusted implicitly, when we wanted to dine out on our own at dinner. Worth the added expense IMHO.

Stephanie runs a fantastic nanny agency,

My three children come with us to the island since they were 3 months and now are 7,9, 11, the island is 100% the best place for children and families. While social medial highlights the adult side of the island, it's always been a family first island. For the moment where parents want to spend a few hrs away I cannot recommend high Stephanie and her team.
