Question re:St Barths Bracelet Diamond Genesis

SBH Insider
I should have bought the St Barths Diamond Genesis bracelet on my last trip in May and I can't wait until October for it. I have emailed them twice to inquire about it-to no avail. Does anyone know the choices available in a bracelet?- in terms of band colors, etc. I need a transitional object for between visits.

I am wearing mine right now. The cords come in several different colors and they usually give you 3 or 4 colors when you buy-- quite frankly, I'm not too keen on the cords--- it is very difficult to put the bracelet on without help from someone. I'm looking for another solution if anyone has one.
The bracelets come in white gold and yellow gold, and some are plain, others have one diamond on them, and others have many diamonds. It all depends on how much you want to spend. The yellow gold one diamond ones were around $375 I believe.

Thank you- I didn't know that you got more than one cord with it-that settles that choice. I'm not too worried about having help to put it on because I'm so heartsick right now I think I'll never take it off. I'm going for the white gold if they ever email me back.

I bought Kraen one in May when we were on our honeymoon..white gold..They had a multitude of colors as far as bands..Beware though..they get loose pretty quickly and are hard to get off and on by yourself..Karen is pretty much wearing hers all the time until we can get to a jeweler here and see if they can come up with some other type of band to attach the charm to..

I was in SBH 2 weeks ago and purchased the white gold bracelet with a yellow band. I agree with all of you - not so easy to get on and off by yourself - so I am going to purchase a white gold necklace to string through the bracelet and wear it around my neck. Kind of like the Tiffany heart...

I bought one for my wife in January...black wrist cord, white gold with diamonds around. It is practically impossible to put on/take off yourself so a cooperative and understanding partner is recommended (that may add to the cost!!!). The discs come in several permutations--yellow gold, white gold, diamond around, pave diamond face or plain and range in price.

Once the original cord corroded (and they will if you don't take the bracelet off) we went searching for an alternative. Several prominent stateside jewelers offer similar items attached either to cotton or rubberized cords. When we were in St. Tropez in April we saw a stand by the dock where the young lady had spools of cord in a variety of colors (10EU). We finally solved the problem of put on/take off with a fine white gold chain. Now it's a necklace.

Dear Debo,
Next time you are in STL, go see Thom Kohn at the Diamond Shop at 12 Central in Clayton. He is a great guy and will make something for Karen, such as a bracelet chain-type thing, for her. (His prices are quite reasonable.) I agree that it would be easier to get off with another method. I didn't get one yet, but I will next time, against the advice of a certain husband...Hope to see you this summer sometime!

Welcome back DM..How was California???Thanks for the info on the jeweler in STL..I will tell Karen...Hope to see you too..Looks like we wont make Cheri's party. She said they are planning Aug 6th I believe and I have a golf tournament I commited to that weekend..But we will be up there other weekends so maybe we can all get together...Glad to have you back

Merci, Debo! We'll be going back to CA at the end of July for more info on the area we are considering. It should be interesting. I am sorry that we will not see you in STL this summer, but I'm sure we'll be there to visit Dave during some other times, so I hope we coincide at a point. Or you might have to come to CA..I'll promise you some spectacular golf to entice you!

you can sign me up for golf anywhere anytime except while on SBH..I would never want to spoil that island with a golf course..Of course they could never build one there without ripping up a large chunck of land so I don't think it will ever happen....

You'll have better luck if you call Diamond Genesis:590-590-27-66-94. Ask for Evelyn Toulet; she speaks excellent English. There are several choices--white gold, yellow gold, with and without diamonds--and also as Maureen noted, many color bands. Evelyn could probably fax you some descriptions and prices. A friend of mine had a black cord band "re-engineered" by a jeweler in the U.S. so that it has a clasp and can be easily removed. Not expensive & I'm sure any jeweler could do it.

DG also has a new bracelet which is a simple gold (white or yellow) cuff with a cutout of the island. My husband gave me one for Valentine's Day & I wear it all the time.

Dear Julia,
That bracelet sounds lovely. I must investigate it further!
Thank you for the info, although it was not I who inquired in the first place.
