Pearl Beach

Just had lunch there. It was very good. Setting perfect and my lobster salad and his Mahi burger were amazing. They have their act together with regards to service. Not rushed but attentive. No tip asked for. Lively happy crowd with laid back vibe. Always a must do for us. We saw owners of 2 of our top restaurants there for lunch so you know it’s good.

We've always enjoyed Pearl Beach. Folks always mention their favorite first night dinner place, PB is always our first day beach hang.

We love Pearl for lunch and always try to visit at least once per trip. We're having trouble this year with our "first night" dinner place. We arrive on Sunday and most of our favorite spots aren't open. Was thinking of trying Pearl but haven't really seen many reviews for dinner. We might have to give it a try.

Never been to PB. What is valet situation? Did notice that their grilled langouste is the highest priced I recall: 18 euros/100 grams. So a 1.5 pounder is $130.Priced out of my "reasonable" parameters.

So I would love to share my recent experience at Pearl Beach. We were just on SBH for 2 weeks, but a family emergency required that Randy fly back home for a few days. He was slated to return on a Sunday so I planned a day on St.Jean at Pearl Beach. Initially I was hoping he would arrive in time for a late lunch but alas, he was impacted by travel delays. Meanwhile I had a lovely dayin the capable hands of the beach and restaurant staff. Just before his plane was set to arrive, I moved to the bar to allow them to close up the beach area. When he finally arrived they all cheered and gave us shots. They let us hang out past closing and kept getting Randy fresh Caribs until we finally left. Such a great and friendly crew.

Also, funny story. When I realized Randy was not going to make lunch I headed to the restaurant to grab a bite and get out of the sun. The specials list was all lobster items but the hostess said none were available. Apparently a hotel guest bought the entire tank and had them set free to the tune of several thousand dollars.

A,mazing story about the lobsters (BTW . . . tank formerly at Santa Fe!). Great people working there!

We are staying at Pearl Beach in May, and have stayed there in the past. While the food may be not as high-end as many places on the Island, we have always enjoyed the friendliness, the mellow vibe, and beach-front location. We will eat there several times during our upcoming trip. The hotel is the same, great combination of location, cost, and vibe.

So interesting, did not know that! We tried to think of all the places with lobster tanks. Santa Fe and La Langouste came to mind.

There was one at Pipiri Palace. Pierre would give an umbrella to the people sitting at the table next to it whenever he needed to remove a lobster.

So much fun watching that bit of fun while listening to great blues tunes.

I remember way back when the chef at Guanahani wading out to a cage in the surf to grab one.

YES! Can’t believe we forgot that place as it was one of our early favorites. Blues music, house made foie gras and chocolate cake “backed” just for you! 💋
