If you haven’t heard about this take a look. This video was created on Open AI’s supercomputer by inputting this text string:
Prompt: A stylish woman walks down a Tokyo street filled with warm glowing neon and animated city signage. She wears a black leather jacket, a long red dress, and black boots, and carries a black purse. She wears sunglasses and red lipstick. She walks confidently and casually. The street is damp and reflective, creating a mirror effect of the colorful lights. Many pedestrians walk about.

they admit it isn’t perfect (yet)
The current model has weaknesses. It may struggle with accurately simulating the physics of a complex scene, and may not understand specific instances of cause and effect. For example, a person might take a bite out of a cookie, but afterward, the cookie may not have a bite mark.

The model may also confuse spatial details of a prompt, for example, mixing up left and right, and may struggle with precise descriptions of events that take place over time, like following a specific camera trajectory.

Scary, isn’t it! Part of what I find interesting is its product of a very detailed description to the software. In this vein, there now are videos in which Fred Trump, the former President’s father, are shown to be saying that he‘s ashamed of Donald. Where does this go?

The world is changing. Some of it is disturbing.

I’m teaching online graduate classes and have started putting assignment questions into ChatGPT to check against students using it for their responses. I have one I’m concerned about but it’s always different enough that I’m not certain. A clever student could do some rewording and it would be impossible to prove.
The university has formed some AI learning groups but the technology is moving so fast it may be impossible to keep up.
