Advertising. Is that Private Club thing not working out, or is this a teaser for a membership pitch?

Good question, Kevin. My understanding was members only. This looks like a public invitation.

I heard through the coconut telegraph that it will become open to all and that the private club format will be discontinued.

Sounds like some forum members have already discovered it based on the crowd description. :biglaugh:

How would you describe the location?
Hi! Disclaimer - We just know the chef and the story of the concept for a few years...so of course I have to say we love the Ocean Club, its founders, the ambiance, location and of course the food is the best we have experienced on the island. It is located above the Martini Bar and D&G/Prada. OC has different memberships (and non-membership) offerings to Yacht Brokers (such as Edmiston), villa owners, villa rental agencies, other corporate endeavors, and individuals. The ‘membership’ structures vary to accommodate different businesses/models. Just reach out to OC to discuss. The soft opening was late 2022 and now with a flair, rhythm and flow, the option to dine is easy and accessible without a membership.

For us (quasi-retired) who live on SBH part-time it is perfect. The food is excellent, the pricing for quality is one of the best known secrets on the island, the location is ideal with a wonderful view. At our age we personally do not need the seizure-inducing strobe lit table-dancing deafening music and cigarette smoke clouds every evening. Of course, that is not every restaurant or the reflective of any opinion except our own. The OC is a quiet, relaxed, enjoyable experience with the most friendly staff on the island, best service, and wonderful cuisine. The air flow and breeze does allow for those who do smoke to not choke the rest of the diners. When the smoke on SBH becomes too much, it is nice to return to California as I well understand the right to smoke, etc ...

We are back in Rancho Santa Fe/San Diego now and I miss getting in the island truck, going down the hill, and venturing into Gustavia to sit at the OC and have a drink and one of Chef Jarad’s creations. They also have valet parking which is a perk for sure when dining...I think we have taste tested almost everything over time for fun and for us, OC is just really an amazing experience.

I don't know the address of anything on ST. Barth's but I know where the Prada store is.

D'accord! What's more, the website for Ocean Club lists its address as Rue de la République . . . not a terribly helpful clue as to the location on third floor of an unidentified building.

A ringing endorsement, Jamie! Thanks for the input & assessment.

So interesting . . . that is, I'm not a wearer of cargo shorts or ball caps -- but, standards are falling everywhere. What's "casual chic" anymore?

Hey Jamie! Is this the Jared that was at Toiny a couple of years ago? If so, he had a pretty short stint at Toiny. Are they open for lunch in addition to dinner? I see a new dining spot in our future;)
