Nyama dinner

A lovely, simple, cheerful, and warmly inviting setting . . . with notable proprietors, Túti & Clément, as hosts (Clément periodically emerging from the kitchen to greet patrons, Túti charmingly offering welcomes & menu explanations).

The “blackboard menu” is mouthwateringly refreshingly and affordable.

Extensive beverage offerings.

I was thrilled with the lightness & freshness of my dinner . . . starting with Fried Spring Rolls

. . . a sampling of the Gyozas

Main course . . . Phö Soup

. . . and a delicious dessert, which I failed to photograph(!), of Sticky Rice with Butter-salted Caramel & Fresh Apple.

Delightful servers Julie (“Juju”) and Anthony (an SBC pilot, when not moonlighting as a waiter!) deserve a special “shoutout” for cool professionalism in food delivery, clearing, mixing cocktails, & generally ministering to restaurant guests with efficiency & friendly warmth.

Highly recommended.

We have had several lunches and dinner at Nyama. The food is excellent and of course Tuti and Clement are tremendous hosts. There is parking off the street directly above the restaurant.

The lunch specials are available daily and good price for nice food and great atmosphere with Tuti/Clemente and staff.

We found our way to Nyama for lunch last week, wanting to see and support Tuti, Clement and JuJu. We had a lovely lunch and it was so good to see them and see how happy they are having their own place. We look forward to going dinner on our next trip.

Just joined the forum and wanted to jump in on this thread. Your description of Nyama sounds fantastic! It’s great to hear that the setting is so welcoming. The way you described the fried spring rolls really caught my attention.

As noted, I’m a fan of Nyama. I’ll add, nonetheless, that my opinion isn’t unanimous among Forum contributors. Perhaps because my opinions take me — though not exclusively — to seek “local” places, with a hint (or more) of St. Barth authenticity (& quality food & service) which don’t necessarily correlate with today’s trend among many new SBH restaurants. The latter traffic, IMO, in hyperactive excitement (for some) in loud music, sensory stimuli that isn’t connected to my age bracket, & in a failure to recognize mediocre food & service, closely tied to expectations of tips. Of course, many might consider me to be a curmudgeon.

Me and my family are right with you on your dining scene. Love the local places that provide good service and great food at reasonable prices.

Ahhh, the Golden Years. I hear you, Dennis.
