Must eat restaurants?

We are not “foodies”. We are ok with basic food and service, we want atmosphere!! And by that we mean people having fun, socializing, people watching, local spot, etc. We enjoy Le Select, Bar De L’Oubli, Piment, Cantina in Gustavia, etc. Other suggestions?

Hi All,
Hoping to head back next month for a week. Any new restaurants to consider or recently good meals? We love suggestions!
Thanks!

Yes, I do - although I have not been there since last July or so. But, there is never anybody in there - not sure why!
Yes, it’s unfortunate. I ate there one time, when it was relatively new. The food was good, though my recollection is that I felt that the restaurant couldn’t decide what it was. Bar-b-que, maybe . . . or steak house? “French” wasn’t the overriding theme. Of course, it may have changed a lot since then. My memory also tells me that the space — actually quite pretty under a large, old tree — felt very enclosed . . . an attractive space, but without views or a feeling of openness that are earmarks of most island dining venues.

And I think lack of nearby available parking spots hindered their success.

Thanks!
How is Bagatelle for dinner? Never been. La Casina looks good but I feel like its very close to the food we get back home.
We were also looking at Gypsea for lunch. How is the scene and food there?

Bagatelle for dinner is perfectly okay, similar to La Petite Plage. We go there for the fun, not the food. I've stopped having expectations for dining at most of the beautiful party atmosphere restaurants on the island, other than Nikki Beach, which is always great. The service at Bagatelle is top notch.

We’ve only been to Bagatelle on a Friday night. 9/930 pm.
Have sat outside , gorgeous view and ambiance, and inside - party vibe.

Food is good ( not great imo), service has always been wonderful.Skipping it this year and have booked Le Petit Plage for a change.

Gypsea, good food and service. Much more sedate even during late lunch, as opposed to Nikki or La Guerite. One of our go to beach days as we like the chill atmosphere. Already booked for our April trip.

Loungers are more reasonably priced compared to NB and G as well.
Enjoy your trip.

Oh great. We have been to many restaurants on the island over the years but always struggle with trying new ones vs going back to old ones we love. Our trips are always quick getaways without the kids. What we have is:
Fri Bagatelle (open to changing though)
Sat Gypsea lunch and Bonito Dinner
Sun Nikki 1st, dinner ?
Mon Beachhouse lunch and Mamo for dinner
Tues Nao 2nd, dinner ?
Wed Le Toiny lunch and Tamarin for dinner

Appreciate any suggestions. We always do Eden for lunch but this year looks like skipping. Shellona we have always wanted to do but the reviews lately have been pretty bad. Thoughts on Kinugawa?

We will be coming for for 5 nights later this month as long as my expidited passport arrives.
There seems to be so many more choices to eat lunch and dinner since our last trip.
What are the can't miss, must go to restaurants?
So far we have...
Sat - Bonito
Sun - Lunch at Nikki. Dinner?
Mon - Lunch? Dinner at L'isola
Tues - Lunch & Dinner?
Wed - Lunch ? Dinner at L'Espirit

Thanks!
Would skip Nikki, L’Isola, Tamarind.
Would add Nyama to your list.

Eden Rock and Eddys are almost always excellent as well

Hi @Juliemango , why would you skip Isola and Tamarind? Have both on our list for next month.
Well actually have all 3 lol but I get NB isn’t for everyone!
Thanks,

Thanks,
Have been coming to the island for 37 years. Tamarind has been hit or miss for me. Mostly miss last few years. It’s a personal choice I guess. Just not crazy about L’Isola and Tamarind is an example of the”Emperor’s New Clothes”
Only one man’s opinion😉
