We’ve always previously flown thru Miami from the DC metro area, but was exceedingly pleased This time to grab flights from Dulles DIRECT to SXM! Great flight. Walked straight thru the transit line and security with our carry on bags past many weary travelers- great. Spent 15-20 minutes in line at immigration. No problem just a bit hot. Went straight to a Winair gate and LUCKED out to get on an earlier flight. First off the plane, met Odile and got our rental, and we were off to an early start.
Didn’t pay enough attention to the forum posts and promptly went to the old Super Marche location. Remedied easily enough and picked up a few essential - wine, cheese, charcuterie, etc.
Headed straight to Ptit Morne in time to see Caroline before she left. Room was wonderful as always. Went straight to the pool for a lovely dip. Back to the room for a complimentary bottle of rose and some of our snacks. The breeze was, in a word, delicious. The temperature all week looks fantastic to top out ay 86. We loved our afternoon - it was quite perfect.
We used to always go to Andy’s Hideaway our first night. Tonight was Le Bananiers. Lucie had the tuna tartare and loved it. I had the duck which was excellent. We shared vanilla crème brûlée with shots of banana rhum.
Doesn’t get much better than this. Best travel day!
