Day 1 - Crepuscular rays and Zion June 24

After sleeping much later than usual, we made our way to Gustavia for a late lunch at Cantina, then a stop at SuperU for a few things. Then back to the villa to spend he afternoon lounging by the pool.

While enjoying the sunset, I noticed the formation of a blue streak, appearing to emanate from the sun. Turns out it was crepuscular rays that form when a distant rain storm blocks the sun when low on the horizon.

After the lightshow was over, we made our way to Zion to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was wonderful, the five course tasting menu was fabulous ( and seemed like more than five with two amuse bouche, two entries, an entrement, two main courses, dessert, and a post desert treat) Catching up with some of the staff from last year's visit was very nice. We also had the pleasure of meeting Dennis, who was also dining at Zion. The only downside was the lack of Chef Jean-Baptiste behind the counter, as he is in France currently. Fortunately his team did an amazing job in his absence.

Apologies for high jacking your thread…I look forward to reading your continuing experience. Cheryl and I saw the above sun & sky last May at St. Jean.
