so- a 5 year resident and a 25 year resident (both American) got into a a SBH burger fight. As one would expect, we are having a burger bracket. There shall be two winners 1) winner of quality regardless of price and 2) value play.

here is the line up:
Piedment
Beefbar
Nikki
Burger Palace
Guanhani
Oubli
Eden
Envol (airport)

We'd love any input

We aren' eating horse meat so don't bother with le select or Jojo

Ti Corail has a perfectly constructed burger. Yann makes everything from the bun, to the sauce to the burger. Not available every day, but if you’re lucky to see it on the menu, order it! Now he just has to add a milkshake or ice cream soda to create absolute perfection

. . .

Is this a serious note? How insulting . . . and what’s the evidence for the assertion?

As vegans we know we don't have a HORSE in this race, but we choose;
Arawak Cafe Vegan Burger with hand cut frites 1st place
and for Jojo Garden burger 2nd for its for local, surfer chic vibe!

JoJo is the best.....but every time I have their burger and fries I just wonder if there is some underlying message in each bite ... after all... they are located next to a cemetery... ....

I think the message is in gratitude for being above the grass! As our dear friend, Amy, often said, “every day’s a gift!”

I've had good burgers at many locations in St Barts. However, I tend to reject the gourmet versions in favour of the "diner" style offerings.
It is a cheeseburger after all. Jo Jo and Le Select hit the spot, scratch my itch, etc. Especially after four straight days of seafood. And they don't set you back 35e.

I’d add to your comment that in its many years of existence, Jojo’s has progressed from a watering hole-cum-bar food to a popular, highly comfortable & valued watering hole with quite good food. A former Jojo’s chef, for example — Apollon Delamotte (https://www.instagram.com/foodislovestbarth/) — now is a major island private chef.
