Baie des Anges any construction nearby in May?

We're interested in a brief two night stay at Baie des Anges as a stopover since we will be arriving before our villa was available to check in. Curious if anyone can provide a status update on construction in the area? My wife and I have been to Flamands many times including last summer and there has consistently been multiple construction projects ongoing in our experience and worry about the noise near the hotel. We'll be staying May 25-27.

Also curious if Bananiers has announced any plans to reopen in a different location? Their pizza was one of our favorites and we loved the lunch specials! So sad to hear they closed!

Having just returned, I agree with Amy--it's hit or miss and hard to predict.
I stayed at Baie des Anges a few nights last November and there was some construction well behind the hotel on the hillside and you could hear it, mainly from the back rooms (above the restaurant) though who is in their room much during the day? I heard nothing on the beach in November, and, more recently, 2 weeks ago, we spent a day on Flamands. I didn't notice any projects currently on or near the beach, esp near the hotel. I think you'll be fine for only 2 nights.

I completely agree with Amy—it's nearly impossible to find a corner of the island without construction. Now that the season has officially ended, all the roadwork has picked up again, with roads closing and concrete and rock breaking happening everywhere. The only respite we get is around New Year's Eve, time off and September, when everyone leaves for hurricane season and vacation.

The respite periods are great times (except, perhaps, “Festive Season,” which is so crowded!)
