Makes me want to stop by for a steak, or a grilled cheese

nah.......it will always be what it is

my Father went there...I went there..and now my daughter goes there....

I used to go there in the 80s, when I lived nearby. It always was fun to, once in awhile, wind-up eating dinner at the bar next to someone like Matt Lauer. There typically would be some conversation . . . with introductions / shaking hands. But, never an acknowledgement of celebrity status . . . a contrast to "Elaine's," another Upper East Side saloon in "the day." I typically would be attracted to Donohue's every couple of weeks by a sign advertising a special of the night -- pot pie. Great memories of a time when I was younger than I am now . . . but not too much different than regular visits today to some of my favorite SBH venues!
